Out East

View over the pond at BML.

Last weekend, Kim and I did a mini road trip across to Boulder Mountain Lodge, and Hell's Backbone Grill in Boulder, UT. We ate beautifully, I sketched, read and relaxed. Saw great sights and met with old friends, in both Boulder and Escalante. It was just what I needed f'or my creative juices to flow and get ideas and moving on the Dixie Forest project (group show, entitled, Land of Contrast: Painted Diary of the Dixie National Forest, at the Sears Gallery, Dixie College St. George this winter).

It is good to get out of Dodge!

Boulder, UT, heading west

This was drawn en route, Monday, coming home from Boulder Mountain Lodge and Hells Back Bone Grill after a way-too-short trip away from home with my mate Kim... Lots of fun, giggles and driving. But got some ideas cooking at last for the Dixie Forest work... The clouds today are very similar and will get to draw later.

Charcoal like app

Just found a new $2 or there abouts App for the iPad, that uses your finger like charcoal... It is ASKetch. A simple one, like the Zen Brush, but can transfer it to the other Brushes or SketchBook Pro to add colour or what ever. This was my first attempt ... After completing my recently very busy part-time job for Form Tomorrow, I treated my self to a half hour sketch of a juniper on the roadside. Charcoal is still tricky to handle... Even if it is virtual, but definitely less messy.... Hahahahaha

Sunset

Having waited for 'Reverent Steve' to do his job... Whilst I took the opportunity to draw the Watchman. After feasting at Oscar's we drove home watching an amazing sunset.
