On-going....

Sorry, I haven't posted for two days, but been busy with learning the iMac and getting files ready to print. Picked up the first two prints.... wow, super nice to see them large and a lot of 'pop'. I am excited about this whole deal, working the iPad size and moving through the process to get the large images. It makes me think about drawing very differently, I am happy with the drawings I will be showing, but realise how much depth one can achieve, there is so much more to come! I dropped off another batch today. This drawing of the stream in Yankee Meadows from last summer, when enlarged had some adjustments desperately needed before enlarging, so the last two drawings will go to the printer next week.

Print test

Finally things are moving in the right direction, for my show going up at the Bit and Spur Restaurant, on April 1. This iPad drawing from last spring will be the first to be enlarged to 30x40 inches. Thanks to Pearl, and David for their help in getting me this far. With only 4 weeks to go, this test will be critical.

Last year in Vegas

I have had a day of figuring out enlarging the iPad work ... So have no brain to draw. Here is a small sketch from last fall, using Brushes.

My dear friend figured out that David Hockney had a special programme... I believe exclusively for him!.... To help print his iPad drawings... So now I think I am trying to reinvent the wheel! Phew

Sun rise in 'ArtRage'

ArtRage is another app... You can paint impasto and blend... It takes up a lot of space though. I was up early for an appointment, so got to see this lovely subtle sunrise.

Jade plant and shadows in 'charcoal'

Using another unpracticed App, ASketch, which gives an effect of working with charcoal on the screen, not completely competent with it yet... But it is fun and using the Pogo stylus rather than the Sensu brush... More to come I am sure!

Saturday's drawing

The great thing about one's own commitment to anything in life is that, one would hope, for the discipline to do it! And with that comes practice. I am now making myself explore the apps I have put on this iPad, today's drawing comes out of the Paper app, which handles like a Journal and was recommended by my friends beau, Dan, last year. I am heavy handed with the color, as today really is a much lighter, brighter day than this drawing shows, but you live and learn...

Committing!

Am I prepared to commit to a daily drawing for 1 year? I have done this before with the 365 West installation, which was drawing the sky in the west, but this time it would be any drawing and on the iPad as I am trying to increase my skill set with this medium and I need to put in the time. My brain hurts too as I have now at last got an iMac (30 years or so in patient waiting - long story!) and I need to learn that too. So in the hope of learning both mediums... Here goes....
