Just finished, more to follow, thank you for following my blog!
I am really enjoying the way I have work with this medium. It very much suits me at this time, with only enough energy for an hour or two a day in the studio. But hey, I feel lucky that I get that.

As you know I am loving working in this collage form. I had three canvases that had been half painted, but never satisfactorily done, hanging around my studio. After finishing the first couple of portraits, I really wanted to try with more family. Especially the three middle girls (the books ends in terms of age, Eloise, eldest (and beautiful young adult) and Nate, (the youngest and still a toddler) have yet to be done). But I wanted to show you these:
Manifesting greatness and full potential of these future women, I used old topo maps, sheet music, old math log tables and an old English book in the hair and clothing.
Details of the lower edges and sides.
I am really enjoying this creative journey, many more to come!

HOPING TO SEE YOU THIS WEEKEND!
Working on new ways of working with collage, learnt last Fall at SUU, with a weekend course taught by Jonathan Talbot. Using the techniques to push my imagination over the border twixt realism and a more loose and intuitive way of working. Looking to work up larger than life portraits, starting with a very small business card sized Polaroid, for basic shape and expression. I then enlarge that up and having great fun with color and hand made papers and reusing old ephemera, my drawings and sketches for texture...
The first portrait... Not perfect but learnt a lot in the making of.
Below 4 small square random collages, with narratives of their own to tell.
More in the making, come by at the weekend and see what's going on.
